The genesis of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is essentially Tony Stark's brain and his inventiveness and it turns out fittingly it was also its ultimate salvation.
In the audio commentary with co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo and co-writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely on this week's home video release of Avengers: Endgame, the gaps are filled in exactly how Iron Man takes away the Infinity Stones from Thanos during their final battle. It turns out it was more hi-tech than just Tony grabbing the Stones away while Thanos was distracted. It was, in fact. nanotech.
"If it’s unclear how he got them, it’s two similar gloves talking to each another in this nanotech-y way," reveals McFeely, meaning the latest generation of Iron Man's armor communicated directly with the gauntlet Tony created to house the Stones. Or in another words, Tony's brain won the day ... again.
Avengers: Endgame is available on digital home video now.
